I had a thought to do something different to celebrate my birthday and reached out to a few Sorority Sisters. I was touched and excited that the date worked for most of them to make a quick get away and have a ‘spot of tea.’
Another FWRC in the books
What a blessing to get to help host another of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated’s Far Western Regional Conferences. It is a serious matter to dedicate your time and talent to service.

A couple stops along the way, closed roads & more traffic than expected, and the map literally stopped a few times! I made it though and, as my sister said, when the band started playing all that effort faded and joy prevailed 💃🏾

Be not weary in well doing. A piece of scripture that often rings in my head especially in these weary days. SO much going on with the deaths of loved ones, friends, and associates. People ailing and depressed and needing connection. I want to remember to keep doing well.

I just watched the most recent episode of PBS’ Finding Your Roots with Professor Henry Gates. It was such a good episode looking at the genealogy of Gayle King, Jordan Peele and Issa Rae.
